Bread Art Club is something me and my fabulous friends are developing as something to keep ourselves creative through lockdown. We also want to create a chill virtual studio space to exchange ideas, talk art and collaborate.

Roughly each month we randomly select a prompt and all make work to fit the ‘brief’, we may all be visual artists but have very different styles and approach so it’s always exciting to see what the others come up with. Below are my prompt responses, in order of newest at the top ~

“ c r e a t e ” - stop motion

A fun little stop motion film about how apple trees are created (including a magic dream sequence). Shot in my ma and pa’s lovely garden. I thusly made an apple crumble from this tree after this.

“ s o u l ” - digital self portrait

Not the first or last time I will try to convey this theme, but water, and being in water, is a very important part of my soul. So I wanted to communicate how I feel when I’m in the water...some kind of mystical warrior queen. I don’t usually draw more realistic faces, particularly mine, so enjoyed doing something a bit different! I’ve also included some photographs taken whilst I’ve been wild swimming.

This piece is about how I gather and then reflect personal energies, influenced by the sun (extrovert & reflect) and the moon (introvert & gather)🌛🌞🌜Check out my instagram reels for a process video !

These pieces together represent how communication during lockdown has helped me feel not apart from others! But also made it such as an alien artefact, as I do like aliens.
